MA Mediastudies: Journalism
University of Groningen
Seasoned journalists guide students in discovering, investigating, and telling journalistic stories inside and outside the newsroom. Students learn to work cross-media in text, image, and sound for various platforms: online, television, radio, and print. They will study how news media works and develops, what characterizes our journalistic culture, and how it relates to, for example, politics and literature. Developments such as globalization, citizenship, and digitalization are also discussed. It is a combination of gaining practical experience and learning more about journalism studies. Learn more

The Media and Journalism track trains students to become communication professionals who know how the content and form of texts and images influence the audience. Students learn how to address different target groups and how to tell a good story.
The study lets students work on current issues such as misinformation and framing, but also on the use of advertising texts and the way in which the government communicates with citizens. Naturally, students also learn to write texts, make videos, and analyze conversations. Learn more
